10 Hard Truths

This post is short. And to the point.

Here’s 10 carefully chosen and crafted hard truths. I’m telling you these because I care. They’re written without judgement.

If you read this with an open mind and consider each one, you’ll be all set for a long, and successful career in the pursuit of health and fitness!

I’ve written this email to you! But it could be written as we or us. I re-read this list often -  as I make all these mistakes and assumptions - and I’ve spent the last decade studying health and fitness!

ONE

Reading, planning, thinking, talking. It’s all important but without action it’s worthless.

TWO

If you sit at a desk all day then it’s not rocket science why your body aches and you struggle to touch your toes.

THREE
If you’re trying to lose weight, and you’re not, you’re eating and drinking too much.

FOUR

Progress takes time. Longer than you expect. But it’s worth it.

FIVE

If you’re trying to gain muscle and you’re not, you’re not eating enough.

SIX

Pick a realistic goal and stick at it, even when it gets hard or something derails your progress.

SEVEN

Fitness, strength and endurance come as a result of challenging your body. When was the last time you finished a workout and felt challenged?

EIGHT

If your goal is weight loss, worrying about what supplement to take or how much vitamins a certain fruit has, really doesn’t matter if you’re overeating by 500 calories every day.

NINE

There is no substitute for a good night’s sleep - you really need to put your phone down, turn the TV off and respect your body by giving it rest.

TEN

If you’re not making progress, you’re not working hard enough on the things you really need to work at.

What would you add?
